Esperance Care Services is a not for profit community organisation whose mission is to alleviate poverty, suffering and hardship in the south east coastal region of Western Australia. Esperance Care Services distributes
emergency relief in the form of:
- food vouchers,
- food hampers and,
- assistance with utility bills.
ECS also provides
pastoral counselling and community support. In addition, ECS operates a good quality
thrift shop that sells donated goods, including:
- 2nd hand clothes,
- bedding, shoes,
- household goods,
- books and
- furniture
- Industrial rag sales - some donated clothing is not suitable for sale, so to keep it from landfill, we cut the clothing into rags, and sell bags of rags to workshops and businesses in Esperance and surrounding areas. To donate goods to Esperance Care Services, items can be left at 2 Gilpin Street, or at two other locations in town. There is a clothing donation bin in the car park at the Castletown Shops, Goldfields Road, Esperance, and on 53 Dempster Street, opposite the Museum Village on Dempster Street. Donations from these places are collected on Wednesdays and on weekends. Esperance Care Services is grateful for the generosity of the people of Esperance in providing good quality donated items.ECS organisation values that drive how we do everything we do are:

When making an application for emergency relief, applicants are required to bring a recent Centrelink income statement, or proof of their current financial hardship.Pastoral counselling and community support is also available from ECS, home visits if required can also be arranged. To make an appointment, please come in, or phone to make an appointment.When donating goods to Esperance Care Services, items can be left at 2 Gilpin Street, or at the donation bins located at the Castletown Shops, Goldfields Road, Esperance and at 53 Dempster Street, opposite the Museum Village in Esperance. For large items, that you might not be able to transport to 2 Gilpin St yourself, please contact the friendly staff at ECS and we can arrange for pick up of your donated furniture on Tuesdays or Wednesdays.If you have purchased a large item and are unable to transport it to your home, ECS will provide delivery for the low cost of $10. Deliveries are made on Tuesdays or Wednesdays. Please speak to the friendly staff at ECS to make delivery arrangements when required.
